I put together a one page book of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” for All Hallow’s Read. You can learn about this new tradition here. The text is from the Project Gutenberg website, and I created the illustrations, including the hand drawn portrait of Poe above.
Download the raven so you can print out some to hand out with candy this Hallowe’en. They print in black and white on 8.5″ x 11″ paper, and instructions on how to fold these mini books are here. If you’ve never made a book before, this is one of the simplest forms out there, perfect for children. Enjoy!

This was novel. I wish I could read every post, but i have to go back to work now… But I’ll return.
LOVE this! Going to make a bunch of these to hand out at the Halloween party at my kids’ school.
One thing, there appear to be two missing “Nevermore”s — on the fourth and fifth to the last stanzas.
Thank you, Keith! I hope they love them.
And thank you for catching that – I’ve uploaded a new file with the missing nevermores.
Thanks so much for the fix!
This is fabulous! I’m very impressed with the art and the fact that you did this as a giveaway. I will be printing a whole bunch to give away all over town. Thank you kindly.
Thank you! I hope the recipients like them as well.
These are great! I run a small independent community bookstore, Arcadia Books in Spring Green, Wisconsin (of House on the Rock fame), and every trick or treater will get one of these. . .
That is fantastic! I love the idea of a book store giving these out. Thank you, and I’ll make sure to drop in the next time I’m in the area.
I like the them on the blog. Is it downloadable anywhere? Thanks!
Great post! I like it very much!
